Why there is an app at all
HoneyChatting works inside your accounts, so it needs a live connection to each platform you use. Making that connection well is the one job this app has.
It cannot be done from a web page, and the reason is a browser rule worth being glad about. The part of a signed-in session that actually proves who you are is deliberately hidden from page scripts — no website can read it, including ours. That rule is what stops a malicious page from stealing your logins, so we would not want it any other way. A small program running on your own computer, that you chose to download, can read it with your permission. That is the whole reason this file exists.
The alternative some tools use is to have you type your password into their own screen and pass it to a browser running on their servers. We would rather not be in the middle of that, and this way we are not.
What happens when you run it
1. It finds your browser. Chrome, then Edge, then Brave — whichever you actually have installed. It uses your real browser rather than shipping its own, because a platform can tell the difference at sign-in and a stranger-looking browser is exactly what gets an account flagged.
2. It opens a clean window. Separate from your everyday browsing, so your extensions, your history and your Google account stay out of it. Your normal windows are untouched and keep working while it runs.
3. It checks where the connection is coming from before the platform is contacted at all, and stops rather than continue if that check does not come back clean. A sign-in arriving from an unexpected place is the single most expensive thing that can go wrong here, so it is checked first and nothing else happens until it passes.
4. You sign in exactly as you always do. The platform's own login page, your keyboard, your password manager, an address bar you can read. Two-factor prompts work normally. Take as long as you need.
5. It picks up the connection and finishes. One window closes and your account is linked. There is nothing to keep running afterwards.
The warning Windows will show you
The first time you open it, Windows will say “Windows protected your PC.” Click More info, then Run anyway.
That message is not a virus warning and it is not about anything found in the file. It is what Windows shows for any program that has not yet been signed with a publisher certificate. Ours is being arranged; until it is, that screen appears for everyone. If you would like to confirm you have exactly the file we published, the SHA-256 above matches the one being served right now.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Brave installed. Any one of them is enough.
- A HoneyChatting account. The app links accounts to yours, so it does nothing useful on its own.
- Nothing to install. It is a single file — put it wherever you like and double-click it.

What it does not do yet
This app connects accounts. That is all it does today, and it is worth being straight about that before you download it.
Your dashboards, your reports, your inbox and your numbers all live in the web app — sign in at app.honeychatting.com for those. A desktop version that carries your statistics too is planned, and this is the first piece of it. Until then, think of this as the doorway rather than the house.
