Fansly states these limits itself if you go outside them.
$1 to $500. Usefully, Fansly tells you when you have gone outside the range rather than silently refusing, so you are never guessing.
When do I get paid?
Fansly does not publish a payout minimum or schedule that we have been able to confirm, so we are not going to state one. Check your own payout screen — and if you have the real figures, we would rather correct this page than guess on it.
What Fansly does get right is the statement view: explicit GROSS and NET columns with no ambiguity at all. It is the boring, correct way to show earnings, and a welcome contrast to platforms where the net figure reads like a total.
How do I sell text with no photo attached?
Fansly is the one platform in this set where you genuinely can. It is called Locked Text, and it works.
The catch is what it looks like. A locked message's body stays empty until the fan pays — the price lives on a separate object, not on the message. Every creator who tries it once assumes it failed to send.
Why can't I see the price on my own message?
Because the price is not stored on the message. It is a permission on the attachment, which is why the paid-message flow feels back-to-front compared with other platforms: you attach first, then require purchase.
What are the traps on day one?
"Lock Replies" is not a paywall. It controls who is allowed to reply, not who has to pay. This is the single most misread control on Fansly, and getting it wrong means either giving content away or silencing fans you wanted to hear from.
Media processing can take hours. A video sitting in processing is normal, not stuck.
A bad audio file sticks on "Verifying" forever. If a voice note never clears, the file is the problem — export it again and resend rather than waiting it out.
You cannot remove the Main Feed wall. It is structural, not a setting you have missed.
"Lock Replies" is not a paywall
It controls who may reply to a post. The control that charges money is the price permission on the attached media. Two similarly-placed options, completely different jobs — and getting them mixed up means either a post nobody can pay for, or a paid post anybody can read.
The price is not on the message
The price does not belong to the message — it belongs to the media you attach. That is why a paid message can look free when you check it afterwards. Fansly has no message-level price at all.
A locked-text message has an empty body
What you are selling sits inside the Locked Text item, not in the message itself, so the message looks blank alongside it. That is normal and the fan still gets the text.
A bad audio file sticks on "Verifying" forever
A damaged or extremely short audio file sits on Verifying instead of failing, so it never resolves on its own. Export the file again and resend rather than waiting it out.
Timestamps use two different units
Message times and subscription times are recorded to different levels of exactness, so hand-totalled exports can drift by a fraction. It is not money going missing.
You cannot remove the Main Feed wall
The wall picker will not let you deselect it, so every post reaches your main feed whatever else you choose.
What do the statistics give me?
Better detail than most:
- Gross and net per revenue type per period — no interpretation needed
- A percentile ranking on monthly stats, so you can see where you sit relative to other creators
- Per-fan spend correlation
- Subscriber totals split into active, expired and all
What is missing: no top-spenders widget, no new-subscribers metric, and no CSV export, so reconciliation is manual.
One quirk worth knowing if you ever add figures up by hand: direct-message and subscription timestamps are recorded at different precision, so totals can drift by a fraction.
Should I run Fansly alongside OnlyFans?
