Fanvue for Creators: The Questions Everyone Actually Asks

Fanvue is the platform creators most often describe as the well-built one, and the one where the first payout takes longest to arrive. Both are true, and the second surprises people.

What do I need before Fanvue will pay me?

More than most platforms, and this is the thing worth knowing before you invest a month in it:

All of it, not just the ID check. If someone else appears in your content, they have to be verified too.

When does the money actually arrive?

The minimum is $20, but your first payout triggers a fraud check of roughly 3 to 7 days. Later payouts are normal.

That first delay catches everyone. It is not your account being reviewed for wrongdoing — it is the standard first-withdrawal check — but if you are counting on that money in a particular week, count on it a week later.

What can I charge for a paid message?

$3 to $500. Note the floor: unlike platforms that start at $1, Fanvue will not let you send a $2 tease.

Message price and subscription price are separate authorities — a change to one does not affect the other, and they can be validated differently.

Why is the price field greyed out?

Because you have not attached media yet. On Fanvue this is a real rule rather than folk wisdom: the control stays disabled until a photo or video is attached, in both the chat and post composers.

What can't I combine?

Paid content cannot be combined with a poll or an expiry. If you are trying to build a paid post that also runs a poll, the platform will not let you, and it does not explain why.

Why won't it schedule my post?

Scheduling needs more than about ten minutes of lead time. If you are trying to queue something for right now, it will be refused — which reads like a bug and is a floor.

You can also leave several messages part-written and come back to them, which is more generous than most.

What are the smart lists, and are they useful?

Genuinely useful, and underused. Fanvue maintains standing segments you would otherwise rebuild by hand every month: subscribers, expired subscribers, followers, free-trial subscribers, fans who have spent more than $50, muted fans, non-renewing and auto-renewing.

That last pair is the valuable one. Knowing who is set not to renew, before they lapse, is the difference between a save and a churn.

What do the statistics give me?

Fanvue is the most honest platform in this set about its own cut:

• Gross, your net, and Fanvue's own income as separate fields on every ledger row. Very few platforms show you their take per transaction.
• Subscriber trend with new and cancelled counts per day
• Smart-list counts including expired, non-renewing, auto-renewing and free trial
• Top spenders, with a per-fan message count

The gap is the usual one: no CSV export.

Two things to read carefully. Insights is gated behind having engagement, so an empty Insights tab early on means "not enough data yet", not "broken". And the cancelled count is period flow while the expired list is current stock — different metrics, so they will not tie.

Anything decorative I should ignore?

Yes — the second, localised price displayed alongside your price is decorative. Do not treat it as a second authority or try to reconcile the two.

Is it worth adding?

Fanvue suits creators who want clean reporting and are willing to clear a stricter verification gate to get it. If you need money out this week, start the verification now rather than when you hit $20.
