Maloum for Creators: The Questions Everyone Actually Asks

Maloum is the fastest-paying platform in this set and the one most likely to refuse your first post without telling you why. Both facts are worth knowing on day one.

How fast does Maloum pay?

From about €1, frequently near-instant. This is Maloum's single biggest advantage and it is not close.

Currencies differ and are not converted — this compares thresholds as each platform states them.

If your problem is waiting a fortnight to see money you earned on Monday, this is the platform that fixes it. It is based in Austria and works in euros.

Is the figure labelled "net" my take-home?

No, and this one costs people real money. Maloum labels a figure "net", and its payout page treats that as the total before the platform fee.

Your actual take-home is the payout amount. The fee shows up as the gap between the two.

Illustrative amounts on EUR 100 gross at the stated 20% commission. The point is which field means what.

Per-transaction rows do show the full picture — gross, VAT, payment fee, payout — so once you know which column to read, the detail is there. The same trap on every platform.

What can I charge for a paid message?

€1 to €9,999, maximum two decimal places. The interface enforces it, so an odd rejection is usually a third decimal.

Why won't my post publish?

Because a Maloum post needs all three of these, and it will not tell you which one is missing:

  1. A caption — required, not optional
  2. Media
  3. One to three categories

The categories requirement is the one that catches everyone, because no other platform in this set has it. More on posts that refuse to publish.

Two more publishing traps:

And when you do publish, you get no confirmation — so a screen that just sits there is not necessarily a failure.

Can I sell a paid post on the feed?

No. There is no per-post price anywhere in the composer. Subscriber-only visibility is not the same thing as paid.

What Maloum has instead is a separate product shop with its own priced items and its own earnings category. That is where one-off sales live. It is a different shape to the OnlyFans model, and worth planning around rather than fighting.

Why is subscriber-only visibility greyed out?

Because you have not set a subscription price yet. Until you do, the subscriber-only audience option stays locked — which reads like a missing feature and is a sequencing rule.

Where do I attach media?

Not where you think. The photo icon takes you to the vault; it does not attach. Pick your media there, then continue. Plenty of creators tap it, see a library, and assume the attach failed.

Can I send voice notes or GIFs?

No to both. Maloum has no microphone control and no audio content type, and the chat upload accepts only JPEG, PNG, MP4 and QuickTime.

This is a genuine platform limitation rather than a setting you have missed. If voice notes are central to how you sell, that rules Maloum out — Fanvue and Brezzels are the strongest on audio.

The German interface, translated

Maloum's interface is German. If you do not read German, this is the table you want:

Maloum interface, in English

What do the statistics give me?

What is missing is churn: no expired or cancelled subscriber count and no new-subscribers-this-period metric, so you cannot see the leak, only the level. Invoices also download one at a time rather than in bulk.

One reporting quirk: the payout statement is headed with the current month, but the list below it is not actually limited to that month.

A post needs a caption, media AND one to three categories

The category requirement is the one that catches people, because nothing about the composer suggests it is mandatory. Miss it and publishing simply refuses.

Subscriber-only visibility is locked until you set a subscription price

Choosing "Abonnenten" without one shows "Abonnementpreis setzen" instead. Set your subscription price first, then the audience option unlocks.

The photo icon takes you to the vault, it does not attach

Tapping it navigates to the vault rather than holding a file in the composer. You pick or upload there, press Weiter, and come back to the chat with an attachment chip. Not a bug — just not what the icon implies.

Publishing gives you no confirmation object

Creating a post returns success with an empty body, and the app simply navigates to your profile. There is no post id handed back, so the only way to confirm is to look.

A schedule in the past publishes immediately, silently

The interface drops the schedule rather than warning you. If a post you meant to schedule went out at once, check the time you picked.

It labels a pre-fee figure "net"

The payout page shows the platform fee as the gap between that figure and your payout amount. So the number labelled net is really the total before the fee comes out, and your actual take-home is the payout amount. Worth knowing before you reconcile anything.

Video needs an aspect ratio between 1:3 and 3:1

Anything more extreme is rejected.

An upload must finish processing before a post will take it

Attach too early and the post is refused with an approval error. Video readiness arrives asynchronously.

The statement heading and the list disagree

The payout page shows the current month at the top, but the list beneath it is not filtered to that month. Read the rows, not the heading.

Is it worth running?

For German-speaking audiences and for cash flow, yes — near-instant payouts are a real operational advantage. For voice-led selling, no.

Maloum is one of the platforms HoneyChatting connects, and your account stays yours: the operator works in a streamed browser session rather than holding your credentials.
